- Brother Knights,
It’s been a while since I sent out a newsletter article. I will keep it brief, but I wanted to let you all know we are keeping you in our prayers during this trying time.
These times call on us Knights to step up and help our brothers. Keep in contact with the members of your Council and make sure that everyone is well and taken care of. Also remember the widows and families of those members who have passed and may continue to need our help.
Charities continue to need our support, especially now as fund raising has been put on the back burner due to finances and social distancing. The State Deputy had sent out a request last fall asking Councils to support the Ultrasound Project and Food for Families at a suggested donation of $500 per Council. Many have accepted that request, but there are many that have not yet submitted a donation. Please submit your donations. We packaged over 30,000 meals for families and we are well into or goal of 11 new ultrasounds this year, but more funding is needed for us to meet our goals.
The State also worked with Supreme to enhance the SOS program this year. Please get your SOS donations in as soon as possible so that we can set you up with a spiritually adopted Seminarian. $1.50 per member gets you qualified for the RSVP refund this year.
Lastly, I wanted to let you know about an exciting new project that the State Council has been working on. We have started a new radio program on Catholic Radio Indy 89.1FM/90.9FM. This radio station covers most of Indianapolis, Carmel, Fishers, Noblesville, Anderson and Muncie over the air and is available to anyone at http://www.catholicradioindy.org/. We are talking about what we as Indiana Knights are doing around the State and the exciting opportunities that exist as a member of the Knights of Columbus. Please listen live if you can on the 1st Saturday and Sunday of each month at 4PM or check out the website for links to the podcasts.
